Welch Industrial Supply Company was founded by Frank and Emily Welch in September, 1967. We began selling industrial products such as cutting tools, fasteners, and precision tools to industrial manufacturers, machine shops, and local utility companies such as Central Hudson and IBM.

During our first four years in business Welch Industrial operated from Frank & Emily Welch’s home in Hurley, NY. In 1971 Frank & Emily purchased a building on Prince Street in Kingston, NY which was used for the Welch Office and Warehouse for many years. Welch Industrial incorporated in 1980, though we remain a family run business to this day.  

With our customers’ confidence and support Welch Industrial has grown and expanded, and in 1989 we moved to a new home just across the street at 76 Prince St., where we continue to do business today. So much has changed in our industry and even our own business since Frank and Emily Welch founded Welch Industrial nearly 40 years ago, but one critical component remains the same; the Welch family tradition. We are still a family owned, family run business. Welch isn't merely a company name, it's our name. That name goes behind every product, service, and customer with a degree of pride and loyalty that's unique to this sense of ownership.
